This seminar explains the existence of evil through the lens of divine love and creaturely free will.
The classical theodicy problem as expressed by Epicurus and reiterated by David Hume is a triad of questions that appear to leave the issue of the origin of evil unresolved:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able to? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then where does evil come from?
The Bible, however, offers compelling evidence that God is good and that he is not the source of evil. In this seminar, you will learn how to reconcile the existence of evil with the existence of a loving Creator God, and how to explain the origin of evil in light of creaturely free will.
